The Malaysian Media Council hosted a dinner and networking session with over 50 media practitioners from Malaysia's northern states during the HAWANA 2026 celebration in Butterworth, signalling its commitment to regional engagement beyond the Klang Valley.
Former Bernama Radio chief Azlan Idris has been named recipient of the HAWANA 2026 Special Award in recognition of his contributions to Malaysian journalism. The award was presented posthumously to his widow.
