China's railways surge past 2.3 billion passenger journeys in first half of 2026
China's railway system transported over 2.3 billion passengers in the first six months of 2026, marking a 5 per cent increase year-on-year. Foreign passenger numbers jumped 33.6 per cent, reflecting the success of transit visa-free policies.
