Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has appealed to Johor voters to select leaders demonstrating integrity, wisdom and humility once entrusted with power, asserting that such qualities are essential to safeguarding the interests of low-income and grassroots communities. Speaking at a Pakatan Harapan (PH) rally in Muar on June 15, Anwar stressed that leadership selection carries profound implications for the state's trajectory and warned against factions that weaponise racial divisions merely to secure votes before neglecting public welfare obligations.

The Prime Minister cautioned against divisive political tactics, urging residents to reject rhetoric grounded in hatred and resentment. "Think about what will happen to our country, our children, our grandchildren, our schools, our hospitals," he said, advocating instead for a politics centred on thoughtful deliberation and inclusive policymaking.

Anwar emphasised that elected representatives must resist arrogance after securing office and redirect their focus toward resolving pressing public challenges, particularly those affecting vulnerable populations. He underscored the necessity of Pakatan Harapan's victory in the state election to harmonise Johor's governance with federal development priorities, noting that coordination between state and federal authorities enables effective project implementation, resource allocation and economic advancement benefiting ordinary citizens.

Highlighting major infrastructure initiatives including the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and Port of Tanjung Pelepas expansion, Anwar credited the federal government's role in these developments whilst pledging continued central government support. He called for state representatives prioritising the everyday needs of ordinary residents over other considerations.

Ahead of the July 11 election, Anwar appealed to Johor voters—particularly those residing elsewhere—to return and participate, stressing that every vote carries significance in catalysing policy transformation and distributing economic gains equitably across society.
