Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has tasked MADANI Communities nationwide with ensuring citizens receive trustworthy information about the government's policies, programmes and accomplishments. Speaking at the Jiwa MADANI programme in Kota Bharu on June 16, he stressed that spreading accurate updates should be a shared responsibility spanning both government bodies and community networks.

The minister highlighted several key successes that grassroots leaders should communicate to residents. These include food security measures under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's administration, particularly efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to maintain adequate rice reserves during celebrations. He also pointed to the Cooking Oil Price Stabilisation Scheme System (eCOSS), run by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, which has improved the availability of subsidised cooking oil to households.

Fahmi announced that the Communications Ministry plans to hold regular briefing sessions to equip community leaders with current information and details about government initiatives requiring grassroots promotion. At the event, he presented appointment letters to Kelantan MADANI Community leaders for the 2026-2027 period.

The Information Department (JAPEN) has been assigned to monitor MADANI Communities' effectiveness in disseminating grassroots information. Fahmi warned that underperforming groups would face scrutiny, with potential personnel changes if required. "We will ask JAPEN to act swiftly if any MADANI Community is found to be inactive. If that happens, we will make the necessary changes, including replacing those who are not performing," he stated.
